Robin has been announced as an official team GB ambassador in the lead-up to and during the London 2012 Olympic Games. The ambassador roles will cover a mixture of responsibilities including attending the athlete training camps and motivational speaking engagement for either a sport, group of athletes or team GB support staff.

Robin is reprising his role as Teen Angel for the UK tour of Grease.

Robin won the World Free Skating Championship Gold Medal three times (78,79,80) along with World Championship Silver and European Championship Gold before winning the Olympic Gold Medal at Lake Placid in 1980. That year, for his services to sport and skating, Robin was awarded the MBE by Her Majesty The Queen at Buckingham Palace.

A highly successful career as a professional skater followed, appearing as special guest star with Holiday on Ice, with whom he set new, and currently unbroken, box office records for attendance levels over a six-week season at Wembley Arena, and also making many special guest appearances with Ice Capades in the USA.

Away from the ice, Robin has forged a very successful theatrical career including starring as Munkustrap in Cats, Frank-N-Furter in The Rocky Horror Show and the Prince in Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella. He played the role of Jack Frost in Santa Claus and the Return of Jack Frost at the Mayflower in Southampton. Last year, he played the role of Teen Angel in Grease at the Piccadilly Theatre in London’s West End.

Robin is the head judge on ITV’s very popular Dancing on Ice, which has just finished its sixth season, and will be back again in 2012.

Robin has a longstanding involvement with Holiday on Ice, which has seen him star in, direct and choreograph numerous shows such as Celebration, Hollywood, Diamonds, Mystery and Spirit. To help mark the 65th anniversary of Holiday on Ice, Robin created the world’s biggest pinwheel for a Guinness world record with 65 skaters on a specially constructed rink. (See it on YouTube under world’s biggest pinwheel). Robin’s tenth production, Tropicana, opened to rave reviews in Germany before embarking on a European tour, and will arrive in the UK in January 2012.

In 1983, Robin set up his own ice company, choreographing hugely successful shows such as Electric Ice, which not only toured worldwide but enjoyed a 14-week sell-out run at the Victoria Palace Theatre in London. Robin’s list of extensive choreographic achievements includes ice interpretations of The Wizard of Oz, Starlight Express and Disney’s Toy Story.

In 2000, Robin formed his own company, Cousins Entertainment Limited, which is a full entertainment and event production company, which also supplies and manages both real and synthetic ice rinks around the country.

Robin’s charity involvements include: Demelza House, ARDIS, Meningitis UK and the Rockinghorse Appeal.
